April continues to be filled with exciting experiences—this week brought another wave of concerts, beautiful cherry blossom views, and some nostalgia from second-gen K-pop. It’s been a fun mix of new and familiar, and I'm constantly reminded of how vibrant spring in Korea really is.
IVE Concert
I had the chance to see IVE live in concert, and it was such a cool experience. Their stage presence was confident and polished, and their styling and visuals stood out just as much as their vocals. The crowd was super enthusiastic, and the whole event had a very current, trend-forward energy that fits IVE’s image perfectly. It was fun to see a fourth-gen group up close and witness how they’re shaping the next wave of K-pop.
Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom
One of the best parts of this week was getting to see the cherry blossoms at their peak. The streets and parks were lined with soft pink petals, creating that dreamy atmosphere Korea is so well known for in the spring. I visited a few popular spots to take photos, but even just walking through everyday neighborhoods felt like a scene out of a movie. It was my first time experiencing cherry blossom season in person, and it completely lived up to the hype.
INFINITE Concert
Later in the week, I ended up attending an INFINITE concert—completely unexpectedly. My aunty had tickets but couldn’t go, so I went in her place. I didn’t know much about the group going in, other than that they’re a second-generation K-pop group with a strong fanbase.
Even without being familiar with their discography, I still found the concert really enjoyable. The crowd’s energy was incredible, and it was clear that many fans had been following INFINITE for years. Their performance had a mature, polished feel, and you could tell they’ve been on stage together for a long time. I may not have known the songs, but the atmosphere and the connection between the group and their fans made it a memorable experience. It was also cool to step outside of my usual music bubble and experience a different side of the K-pop scene.
